im a pontiac guy trying to find info on these discontinued tein ha struts with coil overs. my father in law grabbed them from a car going to pick n pull but they dont fit my wifes 98 civic. how much are they worth and they are for the body style before 98 correct?

Yea it looks like its for the "eg" so civics between 92-95. Retail price around a grand But the springs are pretty beat up so you wont be able to get full price but depending on how they clean up i say you can still get a pretty penny.

i wish they fit on my girls car..id be borrowing it more often... probably wouldnt work with stock wheels though right? what year were the ha series discontinued?

 

yes you can use stock wheels... lol...
but you do need itr rear lower control arms
but either way still not going on an Ek

eg6 takes the rear lca like a type r also

 

DAM! i wish i could find a $1500 dollar TEIN suspension at pick n pull! lol. I'd say their worth a pretty penny also. a good $250-500 maybe more ****.

and i ran slammed on stock wheels for ever stock wheels are the best cause you can slam da hell outa it and still wont rub the fenders only scrape oil pan lol.

 

after inspecting them further i have noticed the fronts with no coil contact are still really stiff..which tells me they are still good...the rears with no coil contact i can compress quite easily...does this mean they are worn out, is there an adjustment i dont know about, or is that normal? these are rebuildable correct?

 

Dont rear EG6 shocks go on the outside of the rear LCA and have a 14mm bolt hold them down?

 

are you selling them how much?

 

cant discuss sales here but they are on ebay. are the rears with little resistance dead?

 

nevermind...i just leaned on some new in box kyb agx's and they are soft too (on 1)...on 8 they still arent as stiff the front tein ha's...

 

Easily 450! Friend of mine paid 1100 new..

 

They have to have a Type-R rear LCA for them to fit (or 88 CRX) a Civic.

 

thank you for all your info gentlemen. shocks sold for $440. on bay. i learned a lot from this thread! crash course in struts, coilovers and rear lca's! i answered ebay questions because of this thread. now back to my heavy 74 firebird!!!

 

that was a good price for those, they were lucky
