Default Why is my car missing after I checked the spark plugs PLEASE HELP

Like the title says I checked the spark plugs put them back in and now the car is missing really bad. All of the wires are corret.

I was thinking I possibly could have crossthreaded a plug I hope not

I bought the car yesterday and the previous owner thinks we may have cracked a plug.

Did you drop any of the plugs when you removed them?

When you installed them, did you slowly rotate the plug left until the plug "fell" into the thread pitch? Was there a lot of resistance to any when you tighted them? You should be able to finger tighten the plug until they bottom out, then 1/4-1/2 turn using a socket-wrench.

First thing I would do is remove them again, do a thurough inspection, and install.

Or buy new NGK coppers for ~$2 each.

Thanks man, I did not even put the plugs back in, it seem like he was tightening them a bit to much but idk. I am just upset and want this car to run right.

What 92TypeR said basically: Best bet is to remove them and check them out man, it's possible that the person that checked them for you accidentally bumped the gaps or something. Just pull them out and look at them/ check gaps if they look intact. Also, if it looked like he was over tightening them there is a possibility that you guys somehow did cross thread.(although I've never even heard of this it is possible I suppose)

If you need instructions on how-to remove them and check your self just PM one of us dude don't worry about it. Not to be insulting, I'm just saying if you don't know how we will help you not bash on you!

lol I am well aware how to remove and check plugs, but I really do appreciate your willingness to help me man. I wish everyone was as helpful as you guys honestly. The fact that you would help me makes me happy.

I checked the plugs and cylinder 4's plugs was messed up and pushed down to where the electrode was touching. I am assuming that this is the problem and I will be trying new plugs in a few.

Yep, that's was I thought might be the issue. Cool man, glad you figured it out. Help was what this forum was supposed to be for right. Untill I found a home in the drag racing forum I wasn't gonna even get on here. As long as you stay away from the appearance and cosmetic section where all the bashers/haters are you'll probably be okay. Get us an update when it runs smooth and then get thia thread locked. LOL
