Default missing after warm-up

hey ive got a civic with a obd1 h22 swapped into it, im having a reallly weird problem with it and havent been able to figure it out yet.

only check engine light is egr which is fine.

car runs just fne when its cold/warming up, i can usually drive it around for 30-45 mins just fine. but wheni shut it off and start it back up shortly after that is when the problems start to kick in.

it has a dead miss to it for the next 5-10mins, its not rpm dependent, not throttle dependent. its just a random miss and this is the only time it happens.

so far i have done a compression test and all cylinders were 235 plus or minus 5.

replaced the distributor with a known good one, replaced the ect, iat, plugs, map and swapped ecu's

out of all that the only thing that had much of an effect was the ect, before replacing that when it would do this it wouldnt even barely idle. now that i replaced the ect it idles fine but just has this dead miss to it.

im at a loss here.

any help right now is greatly appreciated

A clogged EGR system can cause a lot of problems. Clean the valve, port, and passages.

by valve you mean the egr unit itself? port being the area underneath the valve itself? and passages being the things on the runners of the IM?

just want some clarification on that, and whats a good way of cleaning these things?

Yes.

Cleaning involves scraping, scrubbing, carburetor cleaner, and a lot of elbow grease.

so please school me if im wrong here,

if i have had the egr capped off for 5 or 6 months the no gasses would be running through the egr system right? so wouldnt the egr system be in the same condition it was when i first capped it off?

so if the egr system is causing problems wouldnt it have been causing problems when i first capped it off?
