Default Knock sensor issue

Just swapped a high compression GSR motor into my del sol. I had a little 87 octane fuel left in the tank when it was done, the car is tuned to 93 though. I ran all of the 67 out, filled the tank wth 93 octane. If I drive it nice and dont get into the vtec the CEL does not come on, but the instant I hit vtec I get a cel for the knock sensor, if I turn the car off and turn it back on I get no cel, I have never dealt with a knock sensor before, any help appreciated.
