Its an Automatic trans Malfunction code.

kind of thought that
my car was overheating and i was running it and the cel came on
and then the D4 light started flashing.was low on trans fluid.added fluid and the light
quit blinking but the cel stayed on.
will clear code and see if that fixed it.

Asking you if the D4 light was blinking was my next question, Glad you figured it out, Aside from the check engine light, The D4 blinking throws its own type of check engine code aside from the Primary CEL.
