93 civic cx. 96 b18b swap.

problem: i loked on the bottom of my transmission today...im doing a wiretuck so i was seeing where all the wires go. so from the part of the harness that goes to the oxygen sensor, i have two wires (both green with black stripe) and they lead down to the bottom of the transmitssion where there is a plug. one of the wires looks like its supposed to be soldered to somethign on that plug, but its not connected. what is that sensor? would a pic help?

 

yes a pic would help....the only plug I can think of (off the top of my head) thats on the bottom of the trans is the reverse switch. not sure on the wire colors though, just post a pic

okey dokey. i also have two more questions.

1. im doing a wire tuck, so i have an engine harness form another integra. i dont remember what year the guy said it is. the good thing was that it was uncut. so i bought it. now when i was looking at it, on one of the plug clusters....where the harnes plugs into the plugs that come out of the firewal, there are 4 plugs, not 3. so what is the extra plug for?

and 2. i just bought a 96-1998 integra harness. the only problem is its automatic. will it work on the manual car?

please help guys...in the meantime let me go get my harness and a snap of the plug im talking about.

Reverse lights switch?

 

you think? its the only one on the transmision on the botom side. it seems to me liek its a plug that screws into the transmission.

 

if thats is on the passenger side front lower of the trans then ,yes it is the reverse light switch. if the wire is broken off, then check and see if your reverse lights are working.

 

whats a clutch sensor?

 

lol. yes it on the passenger side, front lower. damn reverse switch. so if i want to replace it...how do i go about doing that?

 

 

Although the picture above shows a D series reverse light switch installation, this is what you are dealing with. IF you go upstream a bit, you'll find a 2 pin plug. That is where it's supposed to plug in. Looks like you need to resolder the pigtail harness to the reverse switch itself.

this is stupid- but how do i check the transmission oil level? how do i replace it? and what oil do i use? im sorry if these are idiot questions- ive never done this before and just want to learn so i can teach others like RonJ does..

Ask no further questions until you buy a manual that corresponds to your car/engine/transmission

 

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the trans...if I remember right its a 17mm. There is a fill plug on the passenger side just a few inches away from the axle. Its usually easist to use a flex funnel. Fill it until fluid runs out (Just a hair over 2 quarts). Honda makes MTF fluid, some use syncromesh or red line mtf. Some use engine oil and it works if you're in a bind but I dont recommend it because it lacks certain additives like zinc.

And like he^^^ said get a manual. they can helpful if you dont have acces to the web

 

Drain plug is a 3/8" square plug. Just stick your ratchet in there. Level plug is on the firewall side of the axle on the passenger side. It's a 17mm. You can fill the trans through the VSS hole. I pull the fill plug and the VSS with the car on level ground. Use a long funnel and pour 2 quarts of either Honda MTF or Synchromesh in there. On your 3rd quart, pour slowly and stop when you see the fluid start to drip out. Replace fill level plug and VSS and you are done. Capacity is between 2.4 and 2.5 quarts.
