How do I get rid of my shifter wobble?
Is there anything I can to to tighten up the feel of my shifter? I'm not necessarily talking about installing a shorter throw shifter or attachment. When in neutral or even when in a gear the shifter is a little wobbly. I'm not sure whether its from the shifter side or the transmission side, or maybe a little bit of both.
I noticed the sell Shifter Stabilizer Bushings for B and D series engines, anyone know if they have something similar for the H?

Thanks

there is no real "shifter bushing" in the prelude. Due to the nature of a cable shift, it will not be as tight as a linkage shifter, but you can take everything apart and make sure there is no abnormal wear on the moving parts.
Just take the rubber bushings out and bolt the shifter plate directly to the frame. That's about as tight as you will get it provided nothing is worn out.
I threw in some polyurethane bushings to replace the cradle bushings and shifts feel really notchy and a whole lot better. But from the diagram #1 is still a little wobbly and I can even twist it a little. Maybe all the parts underneath it are just worn out and need replacements....i donno. =/
I have a 5th gen and I have the same problem

I have seen other peoples' posts here and on other boards where they have had the same problem. They bought new bushings (#4), and said that fixed it. But this is not the problem with mine. There is a ping pong ball shaped bushing at the base of the shift lever, where my play is, and it is NOT available separately (but on on Civics it is). So I guess the fix in my case would be to get a new lever assy (#1). If the part wasn't so expensive I would get one. The play is not that bad, yet.

I took my shifter assembly completely apart, and everything checked out. I tightened a few things and got the "twist" out of the lever. But the forward to back and side to side play is still there. I've concluded that its not from the shifter itself. It's either extra play in the cables, bushings on the other end, or the actual selector is loose.
There seems to be a 1/4 inch play in each cable. :/ Whether im in gear or in neutral i have a 1/4 inch play up/down and left/right. I don't have any problems shifting or anything like that, the wobble just bugs me though.
Perhaps this is normal? Does your guys shifter move around like I described?
Is it because my engine has been swapped and am still using my H23 cables? Maybe the H23 cables are a tad longer than the H22 cables, which would give it the extra play? Can anyone confirm this? I noticed they were different part numbers.
