I cracked a big hole in the original aluminum oil pan,just wondering if I could use the steel oil pan from the 96-00 DX/CX/LX engines because there are aftermarket steel pans for $50 compared to around $200 for aluminum.

I've searched but there are no definant answers.

The pan will fit w/ no problems, but you may just want to double check that the oil pickups clearance is the same.

I'll wait for an answer about the oil pickup clearance as I don't have access to a spare oil pan.

Also, you could just use a tape measure and take a measurement of the depths of each pan, if both are similar I'd say you're good to go.
