Sounds like the axles were not fully inserted into the differential. Did you fix that problem?

The front wheels don't turn while you are changing gears, right? You need to get the axles fully inserted and the axle set rings locked into differential.

yeah im realizing that but before I left the car just out of curiosity I attempted to put the car in gear while it was running and not using the clutch. I was expecting to hear it grind but it when in all five gears no problem no grind even though there should have been.

axles? BAHHHH HUM BUG! you got a front e-brake! THATS why it wont spin! haha jus playin

That DOES sound like the axles. they have a little clip that goes on the end of the one that goes into the tranny. make sure it has one, and if it does, then make sure you got the right axle.

well if it will go into gear while its running it sounds as iff the diff might be messed up. thats what my trans would do after i busted the diff, u could just put it in every gear with no probs while it was running, trans is prob bad

this is beyond an axle problem. something seems seriously wrong with the transmission or clutch. any recent changes to the clutch? what made the car start doing this?

sounds like you forgot to install the throw out bearing or the axles arent inserted all the way

just bought trans I will check the throwout bearing..its new maybe something with the fork got messed up. throwout is new clutch is pretty new. all started when I put clutch in back in feb. my friend knocked my trans over and all the fluid came out. he never told me and I didnt realize it. drove to NC and on way back trans started to F up so I bought a new one finally. thats what led to this.

you are going to have to make sure the axles are put in all the way. if that doesn't work, which i dont think it will, you might have to pull the transmission out, check the clutch and throw out bearing, and then reinstall everything. other than that, i really dont have anything else to tell you.

the fact that the transmission changes gears without the clutch in and the motor running tells me its the transmission or clutch, not the axles.

it could be several things. slave cylinder, clutch release fork, throw out bearing, and pretty much anything inside the transmission.

start checking them off the list of possibles. i know it sucks, but in the end at least you will figure it out.
