Help, epic Brake failure, 50mph
So to shorten a long intense story, I was driving 50mph came up to a major intersection and started downshifting then applied the brakes and i hear a pop!thunk noise, i then did intense lane changes and wrong side of traffic, red light ect, luckily i didn't hit anyone and nobody got into an accident, in the end i kept downshifting and eventually slowly rolled into a curb to fully stop and towed my 1990 integra rs (DA) home
So i inspect the damage and a hose that connects to the caliper passenger front side was blown and leaking everywhere, so i purchased a new hose kit and replaced it, however my brake pedal still just goes to the floor with no pressure
Do I just need to bleed my brakes or did something else happen?
If anyone has a step by step on how to bleed the brakes it would be greatly appreciated, I have bled them before on other cars but don't remember the exact steps
Thank you honda-tech!

if you havent bled them at all since the line failure, then you need to do that first....theres not much to it. have a buddy pump the pedal a few times ( I like to keep a small piece of wood under the pedal to keep it from bottoming out), then hold the pedal down. you open the bleeder, let the air out, then tighten it. he release pedal. repeat until all the air is out. start at RR, LR, RF, LF. Yes you have to do rear if the master cylinder went empty. MAKE SURE RESEVOIR IS KEPT FULL!!!
Even on an older car (such as the 90 Integra), you should never be able to lose all braking at once, only half of the brakes should go if a line bursts/disconnects.
Yea i would suspect the master cylinder aswell.
The Cross flow system on Hondas will always keep one front and one rear brake, unless you blow out both rear or both front lines, or the master cylinder.

have you two had a brake failure? The brake pedal will shoot to the floor when the line is blown, you'll maintain somewhat brake power to the circuit thats still funtional, but it will feel like you have no brakes. Its not going to feel like a working brake system.
^^^hes right, Ive worked on many many models of cars and I have yet to feel brakes that work worth a damn with a busted line...although the mastercylinder could be damaged. when you mash the pedal to the floor in a situation like that it can bottom out and damage the cup seals inside of it. But I would still bleed it first because that is the first step after opening the system up

To answer all previous posts, My ebrake cable is snapped, so i have no Ebrake lol that is being worked on tomorow, so i had no choice but to hit a curb, and frankly running into a curb at like 4mph was the least of my problems/worries considering the curb was rounded and only hit tires bc my DA is not lowered
As well, the brakes kinda worked to say the least, the pedal hit the floor and i wasn't exactly thinking clearly while dodging oncoming traffic at 50mph but thats beside the point
I got a chance to bleed the brake that had the broken line before it started raining and now the brakes work but very spongy, so i am gona bleed the rest of the brakes and I think my MC is fine bc just from bleeding one brake (passenger front) the brakes have improved drastically
And thanks for the quick replies and opinions!
