Default B16 build help

im trying to build my b16a and wondering what cams i should get for it. im just working on the head for now and i want somethin that will give me a big boost for around 600. it is my daily driver and i race on weekends so just lookin for a little help and also need a little tranny advice on which to get i have to replace mine. this is in a 92 eg hatch so gimme your input please

If by 600 you mean dollars, this will limit you to Type R cams or Skunk2 stage 1 tuner series cams or Blox A cams since the additional valvetrain reqired for bigger cams will cost you more.

A b16a transmission has good ratios for acceleration so stick with one of those.

ok so what is a better cam that isnt to much more expensive?

There isn't any...those cams I listed are the first step up in an upgrade.

If you upgrade the springs, you have a HUGE selection of cams to choose from for that motor.

with no valve spring upgrade, the ctr intake cam on a b16 gives alot bang for its buck and around 7-10 hp.
