Icon6 Need advice for a D15B all motor setup...

I have a eg civic dx sedan with a D15B vtec and I want more power out of it.
I would like to get it to around 200hp and have it also be reliable since its a daily driver..
It's stock right now with only a AEM cold air intake.

So I was just wondering what kind of upgrades should I install to get this kind of horsepower?

This is expensive to do and not worth it in the long run.

For the D series, boost it or leave it alone for the most part. Trying to extract lots of NA hp from a D series is not worth it IMO.

200hp on this motor NA wont happen unless you are willing to invest some serious work and money and wont be a good daily drive, i have the same motor boosted with a small turbo garette t25, and its amazing fast fun to drive reliable iv had it for 2 years no prob and not that expensive to do

Oh I see...
But if I install a turbo will it still be reliable for a daily driver?

And what was the total cost you paid after everything was installed and tunned?

yes it will be reliable if you upgrade the fuel system like you are supposed to and get it tuned.

and boosting a dseries is the only real way to make power out of them. like most of these guys are saying 200hp all motor isnt going to happen without lots of money, especially with a 1.5, single cams are pretty much worthless all motor

boost it, you'll have fun with it, it'll be reliable as long as it's done right, you'll be making somewhere in the 170-200whp range with a good tune, and most importantly will save you money over an all motor d

The "D" is not a worthless motor. Although it take money to make them fast, they can be VERY fast. BISIMOTO made a pass in the 10 sec. range with "D". That is well over 200whp. Boosting it will be the most reliable and cost efficient way to attain 200 for you though. Just make sure to upgrade the fuel delivery as "Nichelson Performance" said. @ 200, I might relieve the crankcase pressure or at least get some rods and pistons. Do some headwork(springs, retainers). Maybe a cam. You'll have a lot of fun with that. And it will be reliable. But there goes your cost efficiency! "Rule of the wrist": over-build is better than under-build.

my d15b was boosted an IMO more reliable than stock "stock ur forced to wanna push it to the limits, boosted I knew it was fast so i ragged on it wayyyyyyyyyy less"... and i did my whole t3/t4 turbo setup + tune, for about $750... with all new parts...

I think it would be fun to build the motor a bit and turbo it so i think that's what I'll do when I get the money.

Thanks!
