thieves tried to steal my gsr, LOL i have stealth alarm installed
well it was only a matter of time, ive owned this gsr for 5 years, i paid it off 6 months ago and decided to make the trip to so-cal to get my alarm stealth installed by desmond on the forums.
Well fastfoward to this morning, my alarm pager starts beeping IT NEVER BEEPS the alarm is not sensitive at all so when it beeps IT MEANS SOMEONE is doing something, but in my heavy sleep i ignore it but of course it keeps ringing.
I go outside to find that they went thru the driver fender wheel well to pull cable(YES I KNOW i should of relocated this so i am now lol) and popped hood they pulled the battery cables off but theres a back up battery installed and the siren is hidden, they didnt even make it INSIDE the car, the doors were still locked.
i just ordered this for another layer of security, the more layers the better, if they can make it past the alarm which is impossible w/o a tow truck good luck , have fun taking this off as well, easiest way would be to bust the wheel lock off and put spare on, but TIME IS A THIEFS ENEMEY

nice man! what do you mean exactly the siren was hidden as in it wasnt on top of the engine bay area?? and how do you move the siren to a different location yourself?? *new to the scene.

your lucky i had a gsr that was stolen I had an alarm but pretty sure it wasnt as great as yours but anyways good for you.
theres a reason why des didint relocate the hood wire. poppin the hood trips the trigger, rather then them breaking your window
a TYPICAL ALARM CAN BE BYPASSED IN UNDER 1MIN heres how it goes
1.
thief pops hood
2.
cuts siren off EASILY (all major alarm installers MOUNT THE SIREN in easy locations, they dont get much to install these because most offer free installs with purchase of alarms)
or he removes battery cable
so with the siren cut he can work in peace
3.
he goes in car..the alarm usually includes a starter kill so all he does is go under the driver dash under steering wheel finds the brain of the alarm WHICH IS EASY TO SPOT and just cut what he needs to cut.
4.
thats it he does watever he does to get car started and hes gone in 5min or less
WITH STEALTH INSTALL, it usually includes two sirens, and a back up battery heres how that goes
1. thief pops hood
2. alarm starts going off(assuming you have hood sensor, why wouldnt you)
3. thief trys to find siren....its not in engine bay
4. so thief then pulls battery cable (alarm has back up battery that does nothing, this is where the thief that tried to steal my car last night stopped)
5.
if thief has ***** he'll continue and go in car where a loud siren is going off in his ear, he goes to find the brain under the steering wheel ITS NOWHERE near it
6. thief then goes to pop the clutch (normal installs use a starter kill which is good unless you have a manual trans), stealth installs utilize fuel or ecu cuts or both, popping clutch does nothing
7. -the only way he can steal the car is if he can get to the brains of the alarm
- they bring a tow truck
- or you forget to arm the alarm

I would have confronted him at gun point, hopefully he'd try something stupid, but if not, after I got the cuffs and shackles on, I'd beat the ever living **** out of him untill the cops showed up.
thats kick *** that your alarm worked for you.

yuppppppp another one of desmons customers i see. I have had him done 2 of my own cars plus several other cars from friends. None of them has gotten stolen. I have had 1 car stolen from me and the reason was because i didnt have desmons alarm on it. Now i make sure every car i have has his alarm!
it's worth the price right when that siren goes off.

sweet, that gives me more confidence in the alarm system i just bought that is getting installed next month, i bought all the goodies with the battery backup, dual sirens, etc. Where was the physical mounting location of the alarm unit in your car?

I have a Viper tw-way alarm, with a backup battery source and a total of 3 sirens, and all three have the silent wire clipped so they peer LOUD as hell. One in the bay, one in the cabin, and one in the hatch. Along with a hood pin, tilt sensor, proximity sensor, glass sensor, etc. My alarm chirps when it rains out, that's how sensitive it is. And my alarm brain is mounted "some where" under the dash attached to the firewall. Good luck getting away with my car unnoticed. But really, a nothing but a garage stops the tow truck.
In the business I'm in (repossessions and towing), I'll tell you this, that dinky little wheel lock can be bypassed and removed very easily. Obviously I won't go into detail how though.

how much is the stealth alarm and where is desmond located? i have a clifford alarm right now with start kill but as you said he can easily pop the hood and cut the alarm easily.

Very Nice! Simple kill switches and relocating the main relay works well too. I did this for a friends car that has had five failed attempts at getting stolen. Now my friend is mad at me cause his car is so jacked up by the thieves. I always say "Hey at least you still have your car" lol. I love stories like this. glad to hear your car is safe.
