I wouldn't waste your money,..I hear they do very little. You need Higher rev's for them to really help----rev's max way to early or those cams,... would wait and get TODA's!
The "R" and the "S" are to close in hp ratings motor wise(mainly cuz of Compression) to buy everything "Type-R",.the aftermarket stuff will be the same if not better I'm sure.
like for instance-
Type-R suspension-wouldn't be a bad Idea,..but Tein's KIll all--I guess cuz they are supposed to be way better!
Type-R header= wait for DC sports
Type-R intake mani=wait for Skunk2
Type-R ECU
won't work)but wait for HONDATA!,..etc,etc thats just how I see it.Now a Gsr to a DC2-R,..then that car I would get R parts for. That can only help. There again,..Compression I would say is that much better
on a DC2-R then a GSR.
but hey,..thats just me!

Well to tell you the truth the Type R cams do not imporve the power in the Type S.
One of the import shop owners here put them in his Type S and we have talked about our cars. When I asked him how the Type R cams did in his Type S he was very disappointed. He said he noticed no improvement in anyway. He said they were a waste of money In his opinion. So since then I have decided not to get the DC5R cams and I am waiting for Toda to release thier line up.
As for a header of the RSX I would go with the DC5R header. It's wider then the type S header. The thing that is bad about the DC header is that it is only a 4-2 header. In other words it only comes with the top part. And you use you stock bottom part. A good idea would be to get the Dc header and the Type R bottom part and combine them.. or wait for TODA's header
Ecu wise I will be going with HONDATA but last I heard it will not be out for a while, but oh well I can wait.Good Luck guys.

After all, the DC5R is rated 220hp whereas the DC5S is rated 200hp. You'd think if you carried out the proper changes to a DC5S engine, you'd see some noticeable improvement. But of course, real world results always vary.
I am not to sure of what exactly he has done, he won't tell me everything he has under the hood. But he does want to hook me up thou. But he said he was diappointed thou. Oh well, The last time I talked to him which was like a week ago he just got the complete DC5R set up( engine, tranny, ecu, exhaust, interioir, exterior minus the rims) for his type S and now he can get me any JDM part for the car which is pretty good, but im holding off for TODA.
Maybe the jdm body kit minus the wing.

You must couple the cams with the ecu and higher compression to get 15hp. Thats fact. Cams only have a slightly different profile, so that they can sustain 8500rpm ++. You can only get to 8500rpm+ if you have the JDM ecu. The fuel maps and ignition maps for the JDM ECU require the higher compression pistons.
It aint hard to work out, do the whole lot at once, or wait for aftermarket.
By the way, I stated 15hp, not 20. The extra 5 or so comes via the larger diameter header, cat, and exhaust.
