My Speedometer is acting weird..
I don't know what is wrong with it, but sometime it says I'm going at 0 mph when I'm going about 50 mph. Sometime when I'm going 70 mph, it says I'm going over 100 mph. Is there a fix to this? The RPM section seems correct along with the temperature, but the fuel gauge is a bit off sometime. I have a 1996 Honda Civic EX 2 door automatic.
I have another question along with this question.
I bought this car as a 2nd/3rd owner, and it didn't come with a remote. I am not sure if it has keyless entry or not. Can anyone confirm that this card have keyless entry or not so that I don't have to waste money on installing an aftermarket alarm system.

question also, i just installed an automatic cluster with rpm gauge on my manual hatch back. everything works fine but speedo doesnt start moving till im atleast at 10 mph then it jumps upt to 10mph and works fine from there. so the cluster hasnt been used in a while. will it need wd-40 or is it just a wire??

how i fixed mine:
un-plug speedsensor clean the conectors then get 3 little peaces of wire and strip them then put then in each on the conecting points in the plug, then plug it back in an boom it works perfect for 6-9mounth or then it gets dirty.

was your speedometer like mine though?
speed sensor is above the tranny. it will be a 10mm bolt that holds it in, and there is a clip at the top of it. should be farely easy to find. you will most likely have to take your intake off to see it/pull it off.
to me it does infact look like the speed sensor, if you cant get it to operate right, just pull one off another auto civic at your local junkyard.
also, is your car vtec? one way to know for sure is that if your car is vtec, it will be a lemon in horsepower while the speed sensor is out because vtec will not work if the speed sensor is bad.

also what i thought was pretty funny, was when i finished my eg coupe. (d15b7/mini me/on 10lbs) my motor would torque creeping into boost, and it wld shake the tranny , and the clip on the speed sensor was loose so it wld say im going 140 then drop and fluctuate depending on the amount of throttle i gave it to make the motor torque. lol
Already checked it, it still works, but replaced with a new one.. still does the same thing, sometime the speedometer works flawlessly but sometime it doesn't.
It is a vtec
what rpm does it require to make the vtec go on? 5.5k rpm? if so.. the max I'll get it to most likely will be around 4.8k rpm lol.. and my dad already found the speed sensor and somewhat cleaned it.
yea, my dad said sometime the speedometer jumped to 120mph before..
