Im riding down the freeway at about 80 and stumble upon a eclipse (awd) I pass then all of a suddon he pulls next to me and starts reving so I can hear his blow off valve like ten times, so anoying. me having a stock dual 1.6 vtec (i,h,e) I say f$$k it and down shift to 4th and pull on him alittle then he stays wright on my tail then eventualy passing me. This go's on for awhile each time he passes me and slows, there was not enough room to actually race or something. But anyway, how fast are these cars at the track in stock form just wondered because I have worked some gst's before and I'm pissed.

 

perfect example... This is the reason why everyone talks crap about honda owners. And I hate being put in that class as the ones that dont know about cars.

KInda like saying you have a SOHC w/I,H,E and saying you can beat a mustang cobra or something. You have alot to learn about cars on the street. And if someone revs on you, just let it go. To many bad things can happen while messing around on the street.

 

The AWD Eclipses are mid 14's stock.

 

between 14.5-14.7(depends on driver)seen one guy at the track run 15.1 and 15.2, but still had the cocky attitude of thinking he was fast

u worked GS-T's before w/ a stock b16a w/ i/e/h? well they were for surely ******* w/ you. i have a del sol vtec and my best friend has a 98 GS-T and he destroys me by atleast 4-5 cars. I'm sorry but i/e/h wont bring you even close to an all stock GS-T, yet alone a GSX.

seriously, im pist how everyone dogs on GS-T/X's. they seem to get no respect from most honda owners that think that since they did a motor swap or some bs of that nature think they can take one. haha dont get me wrong, i consider them one of the ultimate street beasts for many reasons. small *** turbo, can push up to 17-19 psi on it all stock, do some minor mods, gut the cat, intake, exhaust, upg intercooler and those ******* will fly.

they are street beasts, but not necessarily faster than most cars in the 1/4 mile. most hondas that race lightly modded GS-T's will lose surely 1st and 2nd gear due to the fast spooling turbo. but a t3/t4 turbo honda pushin 6 psi or so shouldnt have probs taking a GS-T in the 1/4 mile. 3rd gear will catch them, trust me, seen him race a GSR w/ a drag 2 and raced my older bro w/ a drag 2 ls.

ive beaten a (singualr) gst before. i love those cars tho, the thing is, ur a step ahead already with that car, meaning: they come with a factory turbo and the engines are built for beatin on it. the only thing i dont like about the gsx's are that their trannies are ****. anyways, just by takin off the intake, exhuast and buildin a manual boost controller, those things will haul ***** w/o forkin out some skrillz.

i cheated and slapped a dsm turbo on my lil sohc and im whoopin up on amany eclipses. TAKE THAT.

 

210 hp 214 torque rated hp in stock trim. nough said bout this.

 

Both GSX/GST have crank walk issues (It seems to be a random problem). I used to run a friend of mines GSt on the highway and he had minimal cheap mods and it would be a good race up until 120 (Something baout the speed limiter on those DSM's). That being said its no wonder a GSX took you. I know a guy that put 500 bux maybe in his GST and off the line he was killing people. A GSX is just as potent.

Stop the mud slinging guys this is getting be as bad as ClubSi or Superhonda.
