Default no fuel

I was driving home last night and my car was acting like it wasnt getting fuel some of the time. When i was on my home strech the car died and wouldn't start. when i turn it over it starts for 2 sec then shuts off. i am wondering if it is my fuel pump or if i have a cloged fuel filter. when i turn my car on i cant hear the fuel pump kick on. So i am prety sure my pump is dead....... is it hard to Replace if i do need one?? thanks h-t

you just answered your own question...
its easy, just remove the rear seat & you can see it right away.

you cant get to the fuel pump from taking out the back seat?, if you dont hear it prime when you turn the key on, the the fuel pump is bad, which means you have to drop the tank and disconnect all the lines and then unbolt the 10mm bolts holding it in..

wrong i see that you are a autozone mechanic

BEFORE REPLACING A PUMP
make sure that there is voltage going back to the pump.
if voltage is present and the 2pin connecter and the pump is not priming then the pump should be replaced.

you cannot tell if there is voltage at the pump with your ears if you do then **** you will be the best tech in the world with your magic powers check everything and do not "just assume" that something is wrong

ha, no sir, ima cook haha, but, yes, make sure the electrical parts are working, and usually when you dont hear the fuel pump prime that means you have an electrical problem, or the pump is bad.
