Default skunk2 pro 1s

Okay so I plan on installing my skunk2 pro 1 cams, valve springs and retainers. I was going to do this while leaving the head in the car using the compressor method so it will take less work and time. Will I have to check my piston to valve and valve to valve clearances by running this cam or can I just leave my cam gears at 0? If I do have to check clearances I will just plan on pulling the head. Thanks.

for using stock pistons it would seem safe to just throw them in. but you always should zero your cams out when installing them. especially ones with more lift and duration but i would take the head off so you can replace other necessary parts and have it inspected. if you dont get your clearances then you dont get the full advantage out of the cam since you only have so much room to play around with. you will need to pick up some special tools in order to do this safely. you might want to have a professional do this for you or someone knowledgeable help you out if this is your first time around with this particular job. if you cant get the help then do more research and gather up all the info you can. its all available here on HT if you decided to do so. good luck

pardon me yfz, not trying to insult your intelligence. i tend to go off on a tangent from time to time. nothing personal. you might want to go to the all motor dyno thread and find all the guys using the pro1 cams and pm them regarding your question in mind.
