Methanol = ethyl hydrate?????
To make a long story short, I left my 5 gallon of methanol at a friends house which is far away, and I'm dangerously low in my car.
It's finally nice outside and I wanted to go to the track tonight but I have no Meth.
So here's my question. I tuned on water-meth injection using 94oct at 24psi. My friend told me that I can use something called ethyl hydrate (i think that's what he said) and that I can buy it a a hardware store close to my house. Is this safe? Does ethyl hydrate = methanol?
I need an answer asap! Help me honda-tech!

Google is a wonderful tool, especially for someone in a hurry.......
Alot of people use windshield washer fluid in their meth systems, ethyl hydrate is a form of alcohol but its not Methanol IIRC

none of your local performance shops carry methanol? any domestic shop worth its salt should, just be sure to get some some top oil/ alcohol lube if its not premixed.
If not just roll out to the track. Take a quick walk through the pits and ask a couple domestics who look like or you can smell are on alcohol, most those guys bring plenty and will give you a couple gallons if you throw them a couple bucks.
