Default 2001 honda crv turning noise

Hey guys I have a 2001 honda crv and when i am making a very sharp but very low speed turn (so full steering wheel lock to the left) and let go of the brakes, it's making a metal on metal kind of sound..which sounds like it's from the front..maybe where the axel attaches to the tranny...sort of thing. Has anyone had anything like this? I am tempted to change my dual pump fluid in the rear but I am not quite sure it's coming from the rear, so i don't want to waste my time.

Thanks in advance

Without looking at it the first thing I woud say from your desription is change the rear diff fluid. Very common problem.

you should do the fluid anyway, and if thats not it and it's a gen 1 and the noise is from the front, and also over speed bumps, it could also be the sway bar endlinks.

Do the fluid, only use honda fluid, and adjust your valves every 30k if it's a gen 1

If you have yet to change your rear differential fluid, I would do that anyways as cheap insurance and eliminating a possible cause in your troubleshooting steps.

Have you inspected your brakes to ensure the brake rotors don't have rust buildup that is contacting the rotor shield? This is common during turns when the wheel bearing deflects every so slightly. Low brakes pads as was already mentioned is something else you can check at the same time.
