Default Rota Slipstreams 15x7.5 with Potenza RE01R

Thought I'd post my opinion on this setup. I just installed this setup (15x7.5 slips with Potenza RE01R) on my stock 93 Sol Si. Everything on the car (bushings, springs, shocks) are original and have seen better days but still working fairly well.

All I can say is awesome. The Sol feels like a completely different car. I still get a decent amount of body roll but "on dry road", the tires don't even budge the least bit once warmed up. This is easily the best $$$ that I have spent on any of my vehicles. Here's another + to anyone who says that tires are the number one aspect of your handling.

I can't really feel a difference in acceleration between my older 18lb si wheels vs. the 12lb slipstreams but the track times will tell.

The only problem is that I don't think you can get this model tire in the states anymore. I believe the replacement is re50 or something like that. If you know please post up.

Please feel free to post your setup too. I'm curious to see what kind of tires everyone else is running.

Your setup is UNSAFE.

The 15" size of RE01R for your car is 195/50-15. However, that size is only approved for use on rims 5.5-7.0 inches wide. A 15x7.5 rim is too wide for the tires. Excessive heat and stress can build up in your tires, possibly leading to tire failure (and even an accident). And no, any tire failure (or resulting damage) will NOT be covered under the Bridgestone warranty, since you mounted them on rims that are not approved for that tire.

I strongly recommend NOT driving on those tires and rims. Get some 15x5.5, 15x6, 15x6.5, or 15x7 rims instead, all of which are approved for 195/50-15 tires.

The replacement for the RE01R, the RE-11, is available in 195/50-15.
