Default f22a w/ h22 jdm trans

Anyone ever tried this? I'm doing it right now cuz I blew up my trans and got an h22 trans for cheap. All i had to do was tap 2 holes.

ummm well yea you could do this but i'm not sure your gonna like it...the jdm h22 trans has very short gears and when mated with a low reving engine you will always be in high rpm...the stock f22 gears were developed to work well with the low rev egine...basically i'm saying that when your on the highway doing 70mph in 5th gear your car is going to be at like a steady 4500 rpm...not good for your motor

The JDM tranny is NOT the shortest H tranny nor does it have very short gears... The M2F4 (4th gen Lude) is. Your estimates are wrong on top of it....

While it will obviously rev higher (Closer to 3700 at 70 MPH), it will also help notably increase acceleration.

The Final drive is shorter in addition to the cogs, and a H23 (M2S4) would be a better choice for an f , but the H22 trans will pep the car up a bit for sure.

are the final drives interchangable? (same size physically) not thread jacking, but could u run a h22 or h23 trans with a final drive from an f series tranny?

The H-Series has a few drawbacks: long gear ratios and cable binding when you shift.

ummmmmm... H series trans is notably shorter not longer than an f tranny dude, and the cables are shared with the f... neither is less prone to the drawbacks of cables. the "binding" issue is solved easily as well...

figured youd know all of that by your employer...

If you all about power and wants to go all out while still NA, I'd say that would be the best choice for tranny. This setup never cross my mind when I still had my SOHC VTEC.
