Default Where do you mount your 4-pt harness in a EG?

I was wondering where do you mount it, to the floor? I want to keep the back seats for passenger. So mounting it over the back seat is out of the question. Thank you. Pics are welcome.

As you might have noticed in the packaging that came with your harness, the harness needs to be no more that 15 degrees from vertical as it leaves the back of your seat.

That means the harness has to go nearly straight back, and the closest place you can put a harness bar is the pillar, which will still block out your back seat.

Sorry, no dice. If you drop the harness straps straight down the back of the seat, you stand a significant chance of submarining (sliding underneath the lap belt) on even a moderate impact.

Doesn't sound like much, but it commonly ruptures most of the organs in your lower torso, breaks a few ribs, and may also break or shatter your feet/ankles as they become crumped amidst your pedals underneath your dashboard. Your knees don't stand a very good chance either.

Not to mention that if you intend to keep the back seats open, chances are you don't have a roll cage/bar. In a rollover without a cage/bar, a 4 pt harness can hold you in place while your roof breaks your neck.

Bottom line: Racing harnesses are for race cars with all the proper safety equipment, not to look cool on the street.

I have a simmilar set up.
I was instructed for the belts to be as close to horizontal as possible, but up to 45 degrees towards the floor is okay. Anything steeper and you start getting hurt.

I am helping a buddy of mine build his 94 Civic coupe. He wants stupid harnesses with his Sparcos, so I helped him put them in...

We simply removed the factory belts, and mounted one side of the harness where the factory belt secured to the car. The other side we simply drilled through the center tub and put a bolt in. They are in line...

It's ghetto as hell, and I wouldn't do it. But my friend is kinda dumb...

I'm going to have harnesses in my 93 hatch, but I'm gonna have a full cage in it and have them mounted right. I wouldn't do it any way else.

45 degrees is required, not 15!

i has seen the harness go back and hook into the stock seat belts for the back seats. then when you want to use the back seats just leave your stock seat belts in and use the stock seat belts front and back.
