Default B16A6

I recently had a friend offer to sell me a nearly complete B16A6 bottom end for 100 bucks. I think it's a good deal no matter what but I'm wanting to do some research before I start building it. There's nothing seriously wrong with it that I know of. It just needs rebuilt. About the only thing I know about it is that it came in EK civics in the middle east and south africa. Where's the best place I can go to read up on them? Or, even better, are there overhaul manuals in existence for Honda engines? I assume there can't be a ton of difference amongst the various B-series engines, but I am still more or less a beginner and could stand to be corrected. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is the same thing as a b16a2 or b16a3 from the US, different numbers for different regions. Compression is the same as well as hp and tq ratings from a first gen b16a out of the Civic/CRX in Japan.

What is missing from the bottom end?

I've never built an engine before, nor have I even fully disassembled one, mainly because I can't afford to spend the money on spare motors. This is definitely new territory to me. I think I have the right mind for it and usually figure things out by taking them apart and putting them back together. Will it be as simple as that, or should I try to find shop manuals, and/or someone who knows what they're doing to help me out with it? I want to make sure it's done right. About the best I've been able to find is youtube videos and it seems like it would be something that would come easily to me. Would you recommend I experiment with a D-series build first, before trying to build a dual cam, or are they comparatively simple to build? What have your experiences been like? I know, lots of questions, but I'm trying to extend my knowledge, and I trust there are a lot of guys on here that know their ****. Everyone has to start somewhere. I seek as much info as I can find, particularly on B-series engines, so if there are already threads on here that I can refer to, hook me up with some links, please.

Just grab a Haynes Manual this shows and tells step by step pretty much what to do with tearing down and rebuilding a motor.

B and D will be the same maybe a couple extra parts, there really is no point of doing that.

There is a FAQ section at the top, alot of info in there you can start off looking in.
