And you can use a small paintbrush to get the dust out of the crevises and vents.

I like to use a damp Cottom Swab (Que-Tip) for the crevises, and vents

Lexol Ph balanced leather cleaner, and Aerospace 303

The leather cleaner is mild and effective, Aerospace is a very low gloss dressing with UV blockers so your dash will not dry up or fade from the sun.

I gave up on trying to keep the dashboard clean. It gets dusty after about a day of driving with the windows down.

I wipe it down about once a month

I hate the that shiny look too.
The best way to clean the dash I've found is to get yourself some of those pledge grab it mits. They're static charged, so you just pipe it over your dash and wala, its clean.

Griot's garage sells a dustmit for like 20 bucks i think. Really good quality and it picks up the dust in one swipe. It's washable too. Armorall and their wipes make the dust worse. Sure it's nice and shiny, but u can't drive because the sun reflects off the dash and owns the eyes. Dustmit = no shine and dust free

Lexol Vinylex is also very good, but just a touch too shiny for my tastes. How does the Vinylex compare to the Aerospace 303??

A damp cloth will wipe off the dust and dirt.

If you want to treat the dash, use this; it puts a nice satiny sheen on the dash, not gooey gloss like that other stuff:

zymöl Vinyl™ Vinyl Conditioner

Heat, cold, washing and exposure to solvent-based cleaners and run-of-the-mill treatments damage the finish of your vinyl upholstery and vinyl trim. Some vinyl manufacturing methods use formaldehyde as the base. Introducing solvent- or formaldehyde-based treatments can accelerate vinyl deterioration by changing the original chemical balance. zymöl Vinyl Conditioner is a solvent-free, formaldehyde-free, oil-based feeding product that releases solvents and restores moisture.

Great stuff.

Damp cloth or Swiffer cloth. No need to spend real money.

I use Maguires and it works great. I like it because it doesn't leave that armour-all shine which I can't stand.

putting 'anything' on the dash will shorten its life and cause a glare.... only use a damp cloth on a cool dash for the wipe off.

I keep a little (dry) hand towel in the car at all times and wipe it down when it's dusty.

Those cig ashes actually helped my car. I took it to a car wash and they Armor All'd it. The gloss made baby jesus cry. Thanks to the ashes, it's almost back to it's nice matte black finish. I'm still working on the door trim though.
