Default Need some help HERE!

I'm about to head to the honda-tech market place and will be looking for a decent turbo and down pipe for a b-series motor my cousin is putting together. He purchased a used blox log manifold and scooped up a 4 bolt .57 trim turbo with a/r of .60/.63. Problem is I was told by a guy at spoolin performance (who I was looking in getting a downpipe for this application), said that I can't run this turbo on this car while keeping a/c and radiator intact.

So taking his word, I apparently need a different turbo with a 5 bolt housing and a 5 bolt a/c downpipe.

? is I need help selecting an appropriate turbo that will support near 300whp and fit (clear the block, mount to the manifold, and will work with keeping a/c, oh yeah and a down pipe...

Any suggestions? Thanks!
Rob

depends on which way you bolt the turbo up.
its not the turbo
its the manifold and which side you want the downpipe on, left or right?

Maybe I didn't make myself clear: I spoke to spoolin performance to have them put together a downpipe for a blox manifold and 4 bolt .57 trim turbo that my cousin picked up locally for a good deal (came off a non-a/c car hence the turbo is 180 degrees around). By using the parts he already purchased and just needing a downpipe to finish his parts list we thought flip the turbo around and get a downpipe similar to the inline-pro setup that I installed a while back. Only difference would be that this is a 4 bolt setup.

As I type and look at this picture I'm loading up, I don't see how 4 or 5 bolt flange will make this type of setup impossible.

You can imagine swapping the turbo 180 degrees around to get the idea of what we have.

someone experienced please comment and help keep this project from going down the crapper. Surely this has been done before and we can get pointed in the right direction. If S.P. just doesn't want to build this maybe some one can clear the air and we will go elsewhere? I'm strictly taking what they are telling me with doing so they suggest buying a different 5 bolt setup?

cuz the precision has BARELY enough space to fit in the 4-bolt housing

the blox with the 5-bolt already fits in terribly tight.

when put in an AC configuration ( compressor on passangerside) the 4-bolt sits further into the block by bout 1/4 in comparison to a 5-bolt turbine housing

if you want to get someone to build you a downpipe for it, perfectly fine with us. We recommend what we know and experience. Call drag, call blox and they will point you to us to build you a downpipe. If you think we're blowing smoke up your unmentionable, its your choice to try to fit it but dont be alarmed when you're left with less than half an engine vin and plate and 1/8th of aluminum left from grinding into your water jacket. .

heres a picture of an inline pro setup with a 4-bolt turbo ( keep in mind, the inline pro has a LOT of space in comparison to the blox manifold)

in comparison to a 5-bolt turbine housing

should be a clear visual representation of what i mean

Thanks! I appreciate it. Just trying to help someone else out. I've put on the inline setup before and there was minimal block modifications needed. Thought since blox was a so called copy company they got it identical. Quick question though... You guys might need to update your site and not offer a/c compatability on that manifold.

Again thanks for the reply and feel free to pm about what you can do for my guy and I'll pass it on to him.

Off to the marketplace to see if there's anything decently priced laying around

its ac compatible for a 5-bolt dp pattern turbine housing. not a 4-bolt

lastly, blox is its own design, its not a copy of anything else on the market.

Dc2. Do you know of a good 5-bolt turbo that will fit this without the huge grinding of the block as you posted earlier? Damn that's a very large notch! LOL

You guys have some great product and I'd love for my cousin to use the s.p. Downpipe! If you have time or know of a few let me know,

Thanks-Rob
