Go figure, someone tried to steal my car.
You always think it won't happen to you... especially when you are at work during the day - somewhere you know it's a safe place. Guess thieves can strike anywhere and even in the middle of the day.
Thankfully there was very little damage done to my 96 GSR and I was able to put it back together and drive home. I have two problems:
1) Steering column doesn't lock anymore. Exactly what parts do I need to fix this? Ignition cylinder or can I fix it somehow without having to change keys?
2) Windshield wipers won't shut off. I don't see cut wires and this wasn't a problem before, so I am really confused on this one. Ideas?

You think it wouldn't happen to you?! You have a 96 GSR... theft is an inevitable certainty. It's the most stolen car in the US many years running.
Do what it says on cause for alarm.
Key cylinder can be replaced by the dealership so you don't have to change keys. You might be able to get a used key cylinder "re-keyed".
Wiper switch may have been damaged when they punched your ignition. You can get a used combo switch. You'll need a torx 40 and a 19mm socket to remove a junkyard steering wheel.

You can swap your key cylinder so that you wont have to make a new key.
There is a little hole and sort of a button inside. Turn the lock to "start", push the button with something and pull the cylinder back. (If I remember it correctly. Just play with it, it was easy when I did it to mine)
