No joke, I have a pretty cool brother, but a $1500 b-day gift? o.0

Anyways, if your brother is into auto-x or canyon carving, I've heard good things about the Buddy Club's. They should be just under $1500.

If he's down for just cruising and would like a better look, consider getting him some Swift springs.

There are a bunch of other options out there as you already know, but those are a couple you can look into for now.

If your budget is 1,500$ please dont go with buddyclubs. Some good options for 1,500 are KW variants 1 and KW variants 2 for a little bit more. Also GT motoring has a good set for 1450$ and bilstein PSS9 too.

stay away from k sport, d2, megan etc..

You need to decide first on if you want a full coilover setup, or a springs/ shocks combo. Then we can discuss options.

For your budget I would look into KW or Buddy Club.

stay FAR AWAY from that cheap **** like buddyclub and megan.

he also does not need a set of swaybars or some stupid useless xbrace crap.

get him a set of bilstein PSS9

www.tirerack.com & www.shox.com for about $1350, shox.com has free shipping.

a friend of mine has megan tracks on his car and they are absolute ****. i bought used PSS9s from a guy and they are great.

Theirs nothing wrong with Buddy Clubs. A buddy of mine has had his set for years now, no worries and no re builds, and they have been daily driven and tracked. They passed the quality test.

that cheap jdm crap is worthless... its all oversprung to make kiddos think that its MAXIMUM HANDLOBRASE....

if he wants a quality part he will stay away from tein, buddyclub, megan racing, etc.

there is a section on suspension here and this guy does thorough testing and explains why those jdm coilovers are pretty much worthless..

Yep I agree with this guy. I researched awhile on s2ki and everyone said stay away from those companies. I always thought tein and buddyclub were good but apparently I just fed into the typical JDM-hype bullshit.

Agreed. If you had 800 to spend Ksports?
but since you have a good chuck.. the buddyclub have the stronger reputation for precision and quality.

After getting coilovers, and having adjustability, camber, dampening etc..
springs w/ koni's seem like a waste of money, time (assembly) etc.

there is also the option of "bc" coilovers, not to be confused w/ "buddyclub" (understandable mistake that many make) but both make a good coilover for around your range.
