just did my valves about 500 miles ago, now my valves are still making noise in the morning, when the engine is cold, they make a tapping noise, and when i rev the engine and let off, they make a high pitch noise also, did i adjust my valves wrong or something??

 

i hear theses noise all the time.........i'm not saying there is nothing wrong........it seems like i always think sometyhing is wrong with my R...........i've never been in a car that sounds anywhere near as raw as the R........

 

glad at least someone is there with me, anyone know a solution to this?

 

Be sure the motor was dead cold when you did it and recheck it when its cold, also be sure you used the right size feeler guages its .17mm int .19mm exh. or .006in and .007in you can go 1 size smaller safely and it will quiet them some more and could be worth a few HP at cost of a slightly rougher idle. HTH

 

are those GSR specs or R? .006 intake, .007 exaust?

My valves make cool funky noises when say I'm in gear but not on the gas (ie engine braking). Sounds kinda funky, but its always done it. Thats what the radio is for.

 

mine does that tooo...i guess thats what happens when ya got no sound deadening
