I was searching for information about the SPOON throttle body for the DC5. I wanted to know if anyone is running it that can let me know how it feels and what gain if any or notice on power that it gave out. Thanks for the information guys.. PS.. I got bored and started searching since I can't race my car for a week, motor mount is still broken and the part comes in next tuesday..Thanks guys.

A taper bored throttlebody such as the one offered by Spoon improves the airflow through the TB. It is not an item that is going to give you major gains in peak horsepower. However, it does improve midrange power and throttle response. Typically, you'll get a 4-6hp gain in the midrange

The Spoon throttlebody is pricey though because you are getting a new OEM throttlebody core with sensors. A good machine shop can do the boring for you for less.

Well I got a price for the Spoon throttle body and I was just wondering about the specs on it. I tried to do a search but no one really knew much about it. As for the machine shop that is also a good idea, but I would still like to keep my stock Tb just in case. Do you have a price on how much the machine shop would charge or how much you can get the Spoon Tb. Pm me and let me know through there or aim me. AIM=Q8x
Thanks bro.

spoon throttle body is BS....dont buy it, you can get your stock TB bored , and get the same results....for a lot less $ ....or find a real aftermarket TB that is actually bigger....

there was a guy on clubrsx who got it installed and he didn't seem that impressed with it, king motosports is offering throttle body boring for less money for the same thing, and apprently the only difference is the small taper(sppon vs. stock)-- this is all second hand so take it for what its worth--i'm sure u could find it if you searched there if you want more accurate info.

Did kingmotor sports say a price on the boring? and do you have to send in your stock or can you get one from them?

Most shops charge under $200USD for throttlebody boring. For a price on the Spoon one, check with any of the shops listed below, but I'll warn you now that it is indeed pricey.

For the shops that offer TB boring, you have to send your stock one to them. That is why the price is cheaper. Some may offer an exchange, but that is not very common in North America. Actually, Spoon does accept TB exchanges, but only in Japan.

If you want to keep your stock TB... and get a new one... it will be pricey. I'm not aware of any US made TB for K20A engines yet.

As I said earlier, that is why the Spoon TB is so expensive, because it is a new OEM core with sensors

forgot to mention that the spoon throttle body is missing the link on it for the cruise control cable-- if that helps anyone-- as far as the price from king motorsports--$150 to mod your existing TB plus $10 shipping seems cheap compared to the price of the spoon piece-- not sure on turn around time though
