Icon6 Missing Cigarette Lighter Plug

My EG is completely missing the plug/socket assembly. I've been told I'll need to replace the dash harness.

Anyone done any alternatives instead of taking off the whole dash and messing with the whole dash harness?

TIA

The plug/harness itself behind the ashtray is missing.....

IIRC, there is a subharness with a 4-P connector that plugs into the main dash harness. That runs to your cigarette lighter. I'm assuming that part is missing, so that's what you'll need to get. But yeah, you will probably have to pull the whole dash to hook that subharness in. Have fun with that.

Do you have a working radio in the car? If so, remove the center panel and look for a free Yel/Red wire behind the panel or tap into this same wire in the connector at the rear of the radio. Then just pick up a cigarette lighter socket from the junk yard.

I put in the harness without taking anything off my 91.. seriously took 5 minutes, it isn't rocket science.

No working radio or anything at all in that area. I'm lost on this, but I've been told I need to replace the dash wiring harness? Ron, I can provide pics if that would help.

anyone else?

Yeah, post a photo or two. Get behind there and see what's there/cut/unplugged/etc., and we can tell you what's missing.

I am having this same issue as well, and my thread on it has gotten no replies so I figured I'll post here. I have the cigarette light socket but nothing behind the dash to plug it into. I have a work radio, but what do I hook the red/yellow to?
