No, and No

I would buy in this order if you need struts: Koni, if not then Tokico, if not then KYB as far as the general brands go, thats pretty much most expensive to cheapest, but better than stock. There are tons of other companies, and options, but it just takes money.

Question, I take it your current suspension is blown because you have the GC's on them, anything stock won't last too long with a coilover, usually a spring that doesn't lower more than say 2in or so is all I would run on a stock strut.

I rode around Vegas for 5 years lowered about 3" on stock shocks (94 civic hatch). They were still in good condition when I swapped them out for Konis. Just keep in mind that the roads here in Vegas are relatively nice and I drove quite carefully too.

PS: If you ever try to switch to Koni's your GC sleeves won't fit. Koni's need special GC sleeves...

Like I said, the GC sleeve for Koni shocks are different than OEM/Tokico/etc. If you already have GC sleeves, you are probably better off buying Tokico Illuminas instead of Koni shocks cause your existing GC sleeves will work. If you must have Koni, then expect to purchase the smaller diameter red sleeves and gold adjuster nuts from GC for the install..

Here's a Koni sport shock w/ GC sleeve:
