Default need help pulling out stock motor, cant figure somethings out. need help

Hey guys I'm pullin out the stock sohc non vtec out of my crx. I have a couple questions about taking some things off or Apart.

First - There is a cable running from the center of the firewall to the back of the tranny, it is a thick black cable seems to be a speed sensor or something. well I don't know how to take it off. I'm kinda stuck here.

Also How do I take off the shift linkage from the tranny I can just do it from the shifter and middle of the car, but then I have to pull the motor out with it still attached to the tranny. I know its a pin of some kind but cant seem to figure out how to remove the pin.

other then that motor is ready to pull out so if you guys could help out with the info that would be great and get things moving for me again

1. The cable is the speedometer cable, just pull back the black rubber thing, there is a little C clip that holds it in the trans, it will pull right out.

2. There is a "bitch pin" in the linkage right before it connects to the trans, easiest way to get it out is to get a 1/4" extension and smack it with a hammer, it will come out.

i just dropped my shifter from the car and took it out with my tranny. however i did the drop-motor method, i didnt use a hoist. Be sure to keep the clip safe from the speedo cable, i had a hell of a time finding another one

, one of the four bolts holding the ac compressor has a point on the end of it, it fits perfect for punching the roll pin out. THAT IS THE EASIEST WAY WITHOUT THE PROPER 8MM PUNCH.

The bitch pin is there for a reason, i would never replace it with a bolt...

the proper tool is all you need, i remove them in seconds now.

a trick with the SOHC, find a long *** 1/4 extension and hit it from the top down, works like a charm.

LOL
Only do this method if you want like 3 inches of slopp. It makes it feel like every gear is in neutral. I just fixed my friends thing with a spring pin.

The spring pin is there for a reason, mostly to keep the play out of your shift linkage.

I would recommend the 1/4 extension too. Piece of cake. I actually used 1/4 to 3/8 adapter and used all of my ratchet extensions to easily and comfortably push the pin out from the top.

this always works for me: a- c clip vice, an allen extension bolt and a 10 or 12 mm socket
