Foul play at work or just coinsidence ????
Important info:
1997 Integra LS
137k miles
Stock OEM suspension
I took my car into the Acura dealership last week to have the rear springs/struts replaced and the oil pan gasket replaced. I dont have the time right now to do it so i just took it to them. I get it back car is still leaking oil, long story and 3 more days later i get the new oil pan and gasket in. Car is now leak free.
I start driving and notice the car is riding really really ruff and stiff on the front end. Thinking its been over a week since i drove it i brushed it off. Well i start to hit bumps area my city i hit all the time knowing how it reacted before...and it is absolutely terrible. Hits hard like its got no suspension whatsoever. And today i hit another bump and speed bump i know has NEVER given me trouble before...it bottoms out on me. I get out and see on the passenger side that the tire is all the way up in the wheel well....the spring is completely compressed.
Question:
Could their be a way that someone screwed with it while it was at the Acura dealer to make this happen? Is it the spring or strut or both? I cant even drive it now
Pics
Driver side (FIRST/TOP) then passenger side (SECOND/BOTTOM). These were taking in the rain and after i drove slowly back home so the passenger side isnt as bad as it was when i first got out.

never seen that before. there's been coincidences but this is weird. never seen a stock spring collapse before. Have you taken the wheel off and inspect the whole suspension?

Yeah thats a little wierd. Id go back and let them have it. Who knows they might fix it for free. And if they do nothing about it then id tell them that you are never coming back and you are going to tell all your friends and an acura forum about thier shady dealings.

Take your wheel off and see what happened. Do you have some cheap aftermarket struts? Did the whole spring perch break off?
Its all OEM Honda suspension. Im gonna take it off today and have a look. Been raining non stop here in Texas, once it lets up im going out to investigate.
i wouldnt touch it ill bring it right back to the dealer and let them just becuase they can say you ****ed with it or something just my 2 cents
Well i ended up replacing the front springs and struts...runs 110% better and smoother. The spring itself had no strength left in it. So just replaced both sides.
