after a long rainy day and night, i went to get in my 96 integra and realized my power antenna, rear defrost, intermittent wipers, interior lights, and interior warning sounds all quit working at the same time! i assume this is a relay problem so i was wondering if anyone knew which one it could be. all my fuses are good. also, only if the car is running and you open the door, it doesnt beep to warn you that the door is open until you close it and when it beeps the warning indicator in the dash for open doors blinks along with the beeps until its done. anyone got any ideas lemme know. thanks!
check your fuses bro, you most likely have a short somwhere that is either blowing your fuse or not getting the fuse juice

i thought it would be something along those lines. ive checked them numerous times and every fuse that is related gets power.

Intermittent wipers, rear defog and warning chimes are all controlled by the ICU, mounted/plugged in to the back of the under dash fuse box, they are a common problem on older Honda/Acura.
The interior lights, [assuming you mean dome light] would also be effected from drivers door, [not pass. door].
Funny thing is I just got back from Pick n Pull, I pulled a PGM-FI Main Relay, pass. airbag cover, some clips and an ICU from a 95 RS for the day when my main relay and/or ICU goes west. 94
PS ICU has nothing to do with power ant. although they may share a fuse.

^second the ICU. They are very expensive new but pulling one from the junkyard may work, it seems to be a pretty common problem as 3 of the 4 DAs I've owned had this issue.
BUMP
I have been looking for other people who have had this same problem I have had with my 1992 Honda Accord EX for the last two years. The horn, defroster, intermittent wipers, antenna, cigarette lighter and over head light rarely work anymore. Sometime the car will tease me and allow all these things to work for a few hours or so. The dealership said I need a new wiring harness which would cost more than the car. So they charge me a $300 to hook the horn directly to the battery. The alarm tech who had to hot wire my over head interior light so my alarm would work properly said
: the two back door jamb switches were bad and could be causing the problem.
So has anyone actually solved this problem? Is it a bad ICU? Let me know. Thanks.

def the ICU, which is directly behind the fuse box under the dash. It is a PITA to get to but it will solve all your problems, i know because i had the same issues your having now and I tried several other things but replacing the ICU worked. Just go to a junk yard and find one. I can send you the old picture of mine if you need any help finding out what it looks like.
Yea, I would really appreciate the pics of the ICU and any advice or instructions you can give me about how to remove and install it. How much did the ICU cost you from the junk yard and do you recommend me having a mechanic install it??
will post a pic after I get home from work today,
hardest part is removing the fuse panel, there are two 8mm(i think thats the size) that will require an extension, one on the bottom and then one on top.
the icu is attached directly behind this unit and its the only grey box on it. I used a flat head screw driver to get under it and push it up. don't be afraid to give a little force but still be careful as your messing with fuses.
ICU only cost me 5 bucks as the people at the pick n pull had no inventory list of it so they told me just to pay 5 and they would call it good. Go ahead and call ahead to the place your going to and ask them.
i def would not say to have a mechanic do it, the actual job is as easy. the hard part is getting access to it

Hi,
Did you ever have a chance to post the pics of the ICU's placement? If so, where do I find them or you can just email them to me at chilllnndc@yahoo (dot)com. Thanks

The ICU is "plugged" into the back of your under dash fuse box, here is one from a 94 Accord, [I am assuming the 92 will be about the same], the gray part is the ICU... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-ho...Q5fAccessories
They all look somewhat alike... http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_kw=92&_kw=ICU
But earlier models did have ones not mounted to the back of the fuse box... http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_kw=honda+accord&_kw=ICU 94

Thanks guys. I finally went to the auto alarm place to have the alarm reattached after the dealership detached it to try to figure out the electronical issues. Remember the dealership couldn't find out what the problem was and charge me $300 to directly attach the horn to the battery. The guys at the DISCOUNT audio/alarm installer charge me less than $150 bucks to reintall the alarm;diagnosed two bad door jamb switches, and performed some rewiring all in about a hour. Everything that didn't work (except the cigarette lighter) works now. I am still going to pick up the ICU from the junk place to have it on hand. However, I tell anyone now.... if you have an electronical problems with your car, take it to an audio/alarm installer first before you go to a dealer. At one point they had three people working on my car at one time...these guys see problems as a challenge or puzzle that must be solved.
