I bought a set of generic sleeve-type coilovers from a friend of mine to lower the rear of my integra the other day (the front already has them) and i have some questions about what problem i was running into. First of all, the sleeves that the coilover nut threads onto were cut so they were only about three inches long. working on the pass. rear side, i threaded the nut all the way down and assembled my strut and lowered the car down and realized it was still sitting at the same level. so im guessing the sleeve isnt long enough to get the adjustment i need? i then decided i could cut the springs that were already on the car, which were the eibach sportlines. Still on just the pass. rear side, i cut one coil out first and reassembled. still the same height! i took it out again and cut one more coil out and reassembled. after lowering the car to the ground it was maybe a quarter inch lower. my strut isnt bottomed out and i know the springs are the same on both sides so why doesnt it sit lower even after cutting that spring? can it be possible my struts are mismatched? it confuses me lol, so any help would be great. p.s.- the car still rides and handles the same after cutting only that right rear spring
You decided to cut a progressive lowering spring, but only on one side? WTF?!?
If you have a swaybar, that will prevent height adjustments on one side from really affecting the final ride height.
