How can I spot fake Mugens?
I'm thinking about buying a set of NRs, but I don't want to get ripped off buying replicas with mugen decals on them. This is sort of a NOOB question but I've never had a set of mugens before because I am poor. So if guys can tell me what to look for that'd be great!
Authentic mugens usually have a mugen sign on the wheel like on the spoke or inside the wheel, not stickers but its actually inprinted on the wheel. If u don't see that then mostlikely its a fake
this goes for rays as well. rays is cast in the wheel. another idea is to bring a digital scale and weigh them. every fake i have ever seen is heavier than the real. rota grid = 14.5lb, volk te37 9.5lb in the 15"
a good game to a heavy rim, should make a thud like if you goodgamed Rossie odonnal

anyway, yes the nr will have 'mugen' casted into the rim between 2 of the front spokes:

as for the topic, i'll go with digital scale method, cuz I've seen some that had authentic looking metal plate tag(hope i'm saying it right) on inside of the wheel(not stickers). it wasn't mugen or rays, but i assume it's possible for some replica to have some. but imprint on the wheel would be difficult to replicate.
