HELP! My 89 CRX is fading away from me. :(
So one day, I drove my 1989 Honda Crx to school. Went to Volleyball practice.
Came back and car ran fine. I drove my gf home. Turned the car off. and Chilled for a little. Tried turning it on. But it wouldnt turn on. So i waited about 20 minutes. It wouldnt turn on. So I called a towtruck driver. When he came, he tried giving me a jump, but that wasnt the problem. Then a few minutes later, the car turned on. I made a U-turn and then i parked in the street, to tell him i didnt need a tow anymore. But as i got back into the car and put it into Drive. it died. So i got it towed. But later that night, I tried starting it again and it started. and from time to time, i check to see if it starts. and it does. What was the problem from the night that i dropped of my gf?
Is there a part problem? Or whats up?
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks!

Check your main ground wire that runs from you battery's negative terminal to the inside passenger side frame rail and then to the transmission. If its loose or corroded it may not be getting a good connection which could be causing your problem. The same thing happened to my 91 Sedan and I replaced the cable and it has been fine ever since.
when you say the car "doesnt turn on" do you mean its not cranking at all, or its cranking and wont start up?
When you first turn the car to ACC, does your check engine light come on then off? or does it stay on once you try and crank it? when you switch the key to ACC try and listen for a fuel pump "hum". If you dont hear this it means the pump isnt priming and your Main Relay needs to be fixed/changed. do these simple tests first (its a VERY common occurance with these cars).
If you dont hear this "prime hum" you need to replace the Main Relay. Its located on the Driver side up underneath the dash, and is some what of a pain to get to, but if this is your problem, we'll work you through it.

my 88 does this to me.
it makes no noise what-so-ever if you turn the key, right?
i have to push my key in further to turn mine on. it is oh-so-slightly more, but it works. could just be a worn out key?

if it turns over and doesnt start could be a tempreture sensor my 89 hatch would start fine cold then when heated it would flood its self out sayin the motor was still cold when it was really warm... turn the key to the second spot in the ignition and see if the little light in the ecu under the carpet flashs a bunch and then look up the code thats flashing
