If your going to trade for s2k. Go with 02 and up. I use to sell honda and 00 and 01 had a lot of minor issue. Tranny recall on some, panels, etc. Unless owner already handled that with warranty before 3 years or 36k. If not it will be your expense. Just fyi.

Theft is a good reason to make the trade if you don't have a garage or like to leave your car at the mall parking lot. I've seen alot of people on here sell their R, buy an S2000, sell their S2000, and buy another R. Kinda funny!
haha....wrong.....How many S2000 owners walk out to a sliced roof, no seats, gauge cluster or steering wheel. It is the same thing only most thieves are too retarded to know how to steal a whole S2000.
JaviITR, you might as well trade since you got the Type R cheap. Plus I'm the one who sold your car to Joe. Your Integra had been stolen and stripped a few times anyway. I spent like a month putting it back together the last time.

The only thing you're losing in that trade is the "collector car" status of the ITR. The S2000's performance is much better in every way. If you're actually going to track the car, the S2000 is a ton of fun...and they're SERIOUSLY quick even when they're stock.
You might try venturing into the S2000 forum and reading up on the advantages/disadvantages of each model year. I think that the S2000 in the craigs list ad is probably worth around $9k-10k or so...maybe less.
I also think that silverstone is definately the wrong color for that car. It doesn't look as bad as the suzuka blue...but a gray sports car...wtf? Silverstone seems to be the most common color and usually silverstone cars are the cheapest to buy. I've found in the S2000 forum that it's the color you settle on. You might be out for a black, white, yellow, red whatever color one...and you end up with a good deal on a gray one so you go with it. That's how it happens.
I didn't settle and just found a smoking deal on the color I wanted...so I can hate on it all I want lol.

You guys getting off topic. Yes I had both and the miles I do to go to work and home I hated both cars. Go see it, feel it, and drive it. If it put a smile in your face buy it. Your opinion and thoughts only matter. Just don't lay down for it.

Acceleration? no.
Braking? no.
Turning? no.
power/torque levels? no.
So besides those...what else is left?
ok i agree with a few people on here, what ever makes YOU happy. biggest thing...DRIVE the car, which is kind of a duh statement but whose to say yes the s2k (my fav all time car) looks and performs great, but with points above, cut roofs, minor recalls ( not saying itrs never have issues) and room....YOU have to be comfortable not us....me personally would be taking the s2k ive driven both the ap1 and ap2 and personally i liked the ap1 but thats just me. and as for "collecters car" now that the s2k is discontinued (sadly) you guys really dont think its a collectors car? hey i might be wrong and ill totally agree if i am but hey its your call do what makes you happy
Fair enough, although I do disagree with the turning. I have driven both vehicles and I a have chosen to purchase 2 Type-Rs in the past 3 years and although I've considered it, have not purchased an S2k. You just make it sound like the only reason someone would drive an ITR over an S2000 is because it is a "collector's car" when this is simply not the case. I have chosen the Type-R because I enjoy driving it more, both daily and on the track. It may not have more HP/TQ or accelerate quite as quickly or go from 60-0 quite as quickly, but for whatever reason, I, as well as others on this forum believe that it does offer a driving experience that suits me better than an S2000. I believe that from the factory, it feels more track ready than an S2k and I love the engine as well as the handling of the car.
