i went to advance auto parts and got this axle seal for my 95 jdm b18c, first are the pictures of the original seal, and the others are the new one, they look totally different, the new one will fit in place but it does not have the groove going around it? will it work?

when i done my clutch job i bought 4 of these

2 for each side, wondered y i kept leaking tranny fluid.

went to honda bought the seals.

compared them, the whole inside circle has a whole different pattern and seal.

buy oems

their the same price.

 

so i just need to buy 1 oem seal?

 

yep theres one on each side.

changing clutch u need to do two cause u take both out.

but for you your just changing the axle, so just goto honda and grab that side seal

6$ or something

for all gaskets and seals goto honda.
for bushings, use oem or energy suspension.

for balljoints and tie rod ends use moog and energy suspension.

yea i know they are on both sides, but this is the only one that was damaged, you think my local honda dealer will have this since they dont carry very many acura parts

 

yeah, that seal looks totally different from the OEM ones I bought from Honda. Not sure what the deal is there.

Good luck on finding Acura parts at your Honda dealer. The guy at my parts counter didn't even know that Acura and Honda were the same company... Your experience may be different. You could try B16 axle seals... I'm about... maybe... 80% certain they're the same. Try them and find out, then post!

 

u can get the seal at honda.

only thing honda dont sell from acura are interior parts and certin acura specific items.

 

i'll tell you what the deal is with auto parts stores. They are ****. All they do is carry poor quality parts that half the time dont work or fail before you even use them, im done with that junk.

But anyway im gonna give Honda a call tomorrow and see if they got them in stock, i would also imagine that b16's seals would be the same.
