I got the vin number from that guy and checked out carfax. It red flags saying its a "branded title: not actual mileage"!

So I called the guy and asked him to explain. He said he got the car at a public auction called "Manheim Skyline Auction" in Fairfield NJ. I checked out the their website and it SEEMS to be a legit place to buy cars (never knew about this of course).

Then he explains that the car was a repossessed vehicle so when they sold him the car, they had to make a new key or something? Strange to me that when (whomever) repossessed the vehicle couldn't file the mileage at that time to the DMV? I don't know. The price is good for the car, but I need your experts opinions please.

Look around..you should be able to find a better deal than this car with its title issue. I wouldn't spend that much money on a car that doesn't have a clean title...but that's just me.

 

Car looks clean and lovin the wheels. Was their an specific reason you went with the Lx and then transformed it into a Si?

The picture taken of it is clearly not in the Bronx. Perhaps the auction house/warehouse is.

 

repossessed cars don't get salvage titles.

is there anything wrong with the car? just because it was repo'd doesn't mean much. if everything checks out then it seems like a good price .
