b16a2 issues
I recently built a new motor due to my old one spinning a rod out the side of the original block.
I bought a used JDM B16A block and put my old crank with all new bearings, pistons, rings, etc. all my bottom end is BRAND new! I had the head inspected, valves replaced and cleaned up. I then bought a re-build kit off EBAY, which included a fel-pro gasket.
so with all this said & done, i got it to crank up and couldn't ever get it to idle AT ALL when it's completely cold. I've put a new idle control valve, TPS and several other things.
When I check the codes it shows as "Engine Coolant Temperature Switch" which I have replaced and nothing has changed. I'm stomped and need some help.
Honda-tech please help me!
Thanks!
p.s. I've also had an issue with a constant oil leak. Not sure if that has any factoring with what i have going on. I've changed out the head gasket about 4 times and I end up with the same issue. Each time with me inspecting the deck and having the head re-milled. I've read that Fel-pro gaskets suck and I should be using an authentic honda head gasket. This is the only angle I took a short cut and it's costed me the most!
Am I missing somethign on the head? I have the two head guides on the block. anything else that should lay inbetween the head and block?
Inputs are welcome, thanks again!
