Default Tri-Y Header data collection and Results

So basically about 1.5 years ago I wanted to know how much improvement a Tri-Y header would make on my car. So using the good OLD search function I found some data that answered my question.

My basic criteria was as follows:
11:1~12:1 compression ratio
1.8ltr
Horsepower numbers between 175~200
BEFORE AND AFTER DYNO RESULTS

A few things you'll notice.
The real deal headers SMSP and Hytech had better torque numbers. Even there curves showed stronger power bands over the entire rpm range.

The clones however seemed to make more top end power.

What I concluded for myself is as follows.

New SMSP header, 8hp
My DC Sports header is crap and all those I study are better, 3hp
A new full 2.5" exhaust, 5hp
So my hope is to gain 8-16hp to give me between 190-198whp on a dynojet.
More recently I have targeted trying to break 140tq, I am at 132tq now.

The first page is the summary and the following pages represent the data I used.

Get an update.

Not actual testing. Just data collection and analysis.
Ideally, I would have liked to the get actual data from the graphs into Excel and study it at various rpm points. This would have given me the average increases across the rpm band for these set-ups. Then I would have put that average data with my torque curve. This would have given me my projected out come. Once I get mine dyno'd I would have compared the two and could see how close I got.
I was not able to do all that and I just looked at the peak HP and TQ.

It seems like nobody on this site uses WINPEP7 much.

Keep in mind I did the searching before the H-T Site was updated. I used the old search function. It was easier to use than the new one.
I searched for SMSP, Hytech, Tri-Y, Clones, Copies. Then under each one of these lists I read all the posts looking for similar builds and dyno graphs. It did take a while, a few evenings 1-2 hrs a night.
