Hey guys I've been chit chatting back and forth with PINKS reps. about an ALL OUT IMPORTS and they seem very interested. They have had many inquiries about it for the past year or so. The reps. will be passing it on to the high officials and see what they fell about it for the 2010 season. I'll update as to what they respond back.

If they do have one for next season, it'll be BIG... Very disappointed in not seeing some of the fastest Imports representing in Concord, NC air on TV. Didn't even get a glimpse of say the S2000 or say Tony1's car ripp'n past single digit domestics. Hope we get an ALL OUT IMPORTS for 2010.

Or even an ALL OUT IMPORT vs. DOMESTIC.......

On a serious note. With all the turbo hondas. I think it's hard to stay "consistent" in their time slot layout. People would sandbag like a **** and use a switch for high boost to edge you out.

 

It would almost have to be at either Z-max or E-town to get a big group of cars. And the fans would have to come out for it or it would be lame, but it's a good idea and I'd show up just to enjoy the day with the car.

i remember there was a turbo crx that handed it down to all the domestics up until the semi-finals or so.

 

I would like to see an import actually represent well on the regular all out first. Rare when I see one and when I do it is mostly a terd.

 

the pinks all out stuff works so well because its so family oriented. its mostly all families at these things that bring their wife, kids, etc. you can have a 5 year old kid there and have them in a good, clean, safe, environment.

until the import scene learns how to act like normal humans, dont blast music as loud as they can out of their 1988 maxima, 375 cars on the 2 step every 8 seconds, and a bunch of prostitutes/hookers walking around its just not going to work. the fast turbo cars wont work because they hotlap you like crazy once you get through "qualifying". there simply is not enough cars, unless they were to pick maybe a 12 or 13 second field. the cars that run the brackets at the import events would be the ones that have the group that they pick. no offense to those guys, its awesome your out racing, but thats not exactly entertainment to watch thats TV worthy.

i think televising anything import related at the state of sport compact racing is going to do more harm than good. get things back up to speed, get some full fields, get more ***'s in the stands, THEN start thinking about TV. and for the love of god dont let nopi have a hand in it, and give everybody an even worse reputation than they already have.

 

I like this show and would love to see an all import version. With the way they have it setup now, sandbagging is pretty much eliminated and it all comes down to reaction time. That, plus the fact the imports would have a lot more cars that require the use of the left foot would make for a very entertaining show. But, asking for a combination of fwd, turbo, and reliability for an entire session going "all out" is a receipe for lots of breakage so it'd be rough to get it together into a complete episode like they do for the v8's. Let's face it, there's way more idiots in our domain than there are for the domestics and from what I've seen from Pinks, they don't give two ***** about anything that's not a v8.

I'm sure they'll eventually do it but maybe only one or two shows. There's not enough fast + reliable imports to make an entire season or even half a season of shows like they do now.

On another note, the episode where they had 4 cars going at it at the same time off a hand drop was crazy. I'd love to see that in person.

Tell em how you really feel Joe! lol. I agree Import racers and the girls they bring with them have to learn to not be toolbags/hookers for it to be family oriented enough for the speed channel.

I do think there would be a ten second field esp at MIR or Etown. If NOPI did anything right it was having two events a year at MIR.

 

I wouldn't bother to run at Pinks again, that's for sure.

 

I hope to, but am not counting on this to happen as the sport compact representation until lately has just been poor. Until the Zmax event there hasnt been too many well prepped FWD turbo cars. I mean even full-race had a coupler kick their ***, ya know.

I think theres more of a shot at getting an import vs domestic as the producers would probably say "this is gonna be a slaughterhouse" in hopes of high ratings.

And as far as the index times go, you would really need someone there who understands what the car is capable of doing. Such as them tossing up a 9.90 when the civic or teg is only capable of a high 10 second pas, thus ruling that car out. Nate hasnt been on their much lately and he was one of the guys who understood forced induction and would help defend the turbo cars

I didn't even ask for a ALL OUT IMPORTS. Because that would be like asking for charity!! ( I think there are tons of cars out there that can compete and out compete the Domestics)

I asked can a said # spots for Imports be set aside in the 400-500 cars ( lets just say 50 cars, granted we'd have to sign up/register/and call on the night of the deadline)) . So that "we" can make a fair showing!!

They said .."Thanks for the intrest , but that will not happen"... (i'll get the exact E-mail later and post).

Honestly i felt that Tony, Blue and others made a GREATTTT showing at the Zmax ALL OUT (and there was ZERO coverage) Sureee "we " didn't make the show. But common the wheelstand didnt make it ? WTF!!!!

 

the fact that the wheel stand didnt make it should tell you a lot. 13 second red neck cars pull the wheels off the ground. for them...that was just normal, nothing exciting, and pretty much just flat out expected. they could care less about the imports, and their viewers of the show probably dont want to watch them. for every 1 sport compact racer there is 3000 domestic guys. how they dont show a quick clip of tony's car, the inline car, rlz's car, etc is beyond me. even if you dont like imports you can appreciate set ups like those, i mean hell a clip wouldnt take much more than 8 seconds...i think they can make room for that on their show, they just simply dont want to. i wouldnt be surprised if their camera guys turned the camera off for those runs lol

 

They would find a way not to air any of the footage on tv.

 

I just went to pinks in bakersfield and only one import was there, but it had an LS1 in it which doesnt count. I tried to register for it on the first day registration was open, by the time I got to the site to do it they closed it because of so many registering, but 150 of them didnt even show up. which assed out people who really wanted to go.

Pinks All Out came to Bandimere last year. The field picked was a 12 sec group. A new Mustang GT won't run a 13.8 here stock. It's all relative to your environment.

 

I guess it's not only me that was pissed about Zmax show. My little 5yr old was so pissed he didn't see tony and the rest of the import cars there. Kept on complaining why they didn't show them.... whatever!!! Big disappointment!!! Does seem like they don't give a rats @ss about it, but we'll see what happens for the 2010 season.

Import vs. Domestic ALL OUT would be better since we know there are at least 8 RELIABALE 10sec FWD that can hot-lap in the nation............for sure!!! I'm also confident upper 9's are possible too!!! And remember guys it isn't always just the FWD Honda fields that will show up and compete. Imports also includes reliable 8-9sec RWD rotaries, 4cyl(toyotas), AWD DSMs, etc.....

I have doubts they'll do a show with some import relevance, but we'll wait and see!!!

 

After the ressesion that happend w Dodge and GM the domestic cars need all the publicity they can get. Even if they had a chance to show some SC guys why would they give their very little time to us. lol

 

After what they did here for arm drop live, I have no confidence in those people what so ever. They are not even able to select a field from a computer program. They only do 12's or slower groups anymore, because that is where most cars that show up for these events are. They don't want good racing, they want something they can make seem dramatic, and put advertising on.

 

X2 i wish they would look into that.
