clutch cable ?
i got an 88 crx hf that i'm swapping a b18a1 into, my problem is my clutch cable won't work, i can get it on the shift fork with the cable adjusted all the way out and take the bracket off and get the cable on the bracket, put the bracket back on the trans and the cable is so tight that it won't let the shift fork drop down and when i push on the pedal it won't move. do i need a cable from a DA? any idea would be great-thanks
no you do not need a da cable. maybe there's something wrong with the clutch?
the arm is not supposed to drop back down once the cable is in place. you're supposed to tighten the cable till you can feel it start to get snug. this would indicate the throwout bearing has just begun to touch the fingers on the pressure plate. so if you cannot press the pedal down at all then either the cable is binding somehow, or the there is something wrong with the clutch assembly.
