It could be LS, GSR, or JDM ITR. Have you driven on it yet?

Is the Trans out of the car or in ? If the trans is out of the car, count the # of rotations it takes on the Input shaft to make one revolution of the differential.

If you pop the trans in 3rd gear, the gear ratio of 3rd in a gsr is 1.36. X 4.40 Final. You get 5.98. you'll be turning the input shaft approx 6 times to make one revolution of the differential. Find the gear ratio calculator for hondas online for reference. When in doubt, check every gear, never know if someone has swapped out gears.

Or do it the other way .. Take trans out , crack case open and start counting teeth

Can do the same thing as said above by raising the car and turning the crank pulley while counting axle rotation if in the car.

With 3rd gear engaged spin the crank right? How many times do I count the axle for spinning to determine what it is.

Never driven on the street before, only race track. It went 109mph on top end of 4th gear and was at 8500rpm's...

One revolution of axle = one revolution of the differential.

109mph@8500rpm on a 24.5inch tire in 4th gear is only possible in a 6-speed K-series box.

any other gearbox it has to be aftermarket/customized
a usdm ITR with a 4.785 fd swapped in does 110mph@8000rpm, maybe your tach is way off.
same box with a 4.928 does 110mph@8200rpm, seems more likely as tachs usually are 200-300rpms off

i'd say crack it open, or drive it on the street and datalog your vss+rpm and calulate it with http://teammfactory.com/gearcalculator.php
