Default Coilovers or Lowering Springs.??

I'm having a very difficult time choosing between coilovers and lowering springs.
I don't want to spend more than 400, but it's always nice to spend less.
opinions?

I was lookin at skunk2 lowering springs, but all i hear about is how coilovers are SO much better.

Yes it depends on what you want. If its a DD I think coilovers arent necessary. Plus a decent set will be almost $1k.

I want coilovers for the adjustability. Living in a place that can get up to 6in of snow in a day and have to get to school with streets that are barely plowed or just salted over sucks. I have been contemplating this for a very long time. I would like to know how low I can go and get away with ground clearance for the snow. If I can get away with a 2.5in drop I would just get springs because then I wouldnt have to worry about the adjusting it for the snow. I could then get 2.0in lowering springs with shocks and be set for under 500. Coilovers would cost 800 but then I can be low as hell in the summer and be near stock when I need it. I may just have to save up for coilovers. I was thinking progress because I probably could get away with the 1in shorther drop when raised all the way up, and 3in all the way down is lower than I would want to go. They are like 600 or 630, I forgot, but are reasonable and great quality for the price, better than F2.

I've always liked the Skunk2 springs..... it'll bring you down about 2.5".... I just ordered the skunk2 spring and shock kit.... looking forward to getting em... I use skunk2 on all my cars... I do suggest you get the shocks too though... the stock struts will be pissed off after awhile... if you go on ebay, you can prolly get em cheaper than JHPUSA, cause you can avoid shipping charges... actually, sometimes you'll find it cheaper on JHPUSA's ebay store, than on their website, cause they do free shipping on ebay.... Good Luck

Options :

1) If your budget is limited, I would just keep saving until you can get what you want.

2) Get a set of H&R *OE* Sports. They only drop 1-1.5 in. Very mild, but will work with stock shocks. Makes for a spirited ride, and you can always sell them when you are done with them.
