need to check my engine code...
and I was wondering how you do it? My friend had an Si and said it was like a blue wire or something he can't find on my HF. He said then you count the red light flashes or something, and you'll know what's wrong. My car is an 88 HF, and when I started it today the check engine light came on and it idles real low, and at mid-throttle it cuts out, but not at full throttle. Also, I put five dollars worth of gas in it and it only went about 45-50 miles before it was on E. It's the stock HF motor. My roommate said he thought it could be either the o2 sensor or the catalytic convertor. If its the cc I'm cutting it out, if it's the o2 I'm gonna get one tomorrow but I'd like to know for sure before I spend any money. Any replies are MUCH appreciated.
pull up the carpet on your passengers side floor, youll see a gold box about a foot square. you'll have to take the cover off it first (4 10mm bolts) and then you should see a small screen with a LED in the middle of the ECU. count how many flashes there are. long flashes go by tens, short flashes go by ones.
then when u figure out your code go here http://www.evotuners.com/civic_errorcodes.htm and find out what the code means.

I didn't take anything off, there is a little window on that plate. I turned on the ignition and it was one flash, then 5 short flashes in a row, so I guess it's a code 15? On that link it says "ignition output signal". So do I need a new ignition then?
