Default Hondata??

I'm picking up my R this weekend and I'm doing a little research. It's equipped with a JRSC at 6lbs, the JR BTC, and MAP sensor controller. Most of my cars have been NA with the exception of my STI so I don't have much experience with forced induction Hondas. I understand that the MAP controller keeps my CE light from coming on, and smooths out the transfer at boost. The BTC controls the timing retard and prevents detonation from what I read. If I upgraded to a Hondata s300, would it replace just the BTC or the MAP sensor as well? Would there be any advantage to doing so? I'm not sure I want to run any more boost but would I gain anything in safety/relaibilty with the Hondata system

you wont need the btc or the map controller. the hondata will allow you to pull desired timing, and the hondata set up correctly can see positive pressure.

although the s300 comes with a loaded map for a b18c5 with a charger, all cars are a little different.

so with that said, still have it tuned.

Is there an advantage to using the Hondata system vs the current setup?

Absolutely Hondata will have several advantages over your current setup, and it will be much safer if properly tuned.
