So i just rebuilt a D15B7 bottom end mated to an A6 head.
The engine turns over and starts, struggles to keep going then dies.
The only code im throwing is a code 6, im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the engine dying. I could very well be wrong.
The engine was out of time the first time I attempted to start it but im almost positive that it is now in time. Im going to adjust the idle right now. Any ideas what the issue might be?

It was the throttle cable. I just tightened it up a little and voila!
Now my temp gauge isn't working and my guess is thats because of the CEL code 6 im getting. I had to rewire the thermostat sensor that sits at the back of the D16a6 block to the water temp sensor on the side of the head during the rebuild. It was my first attempt at wiring and it looks like it failed.

Here is a pic of the wiring job to illustrate the connectors I used. Anyone have any input? Should I use different connectors?

I let the car run for about 5 minutes after i messed with the throttle cable and after i turned it off the only coolant hose that was warm was the bypass hose. The radiator wasn't even warm.
Could this have anything to do with the CEL code im getting?
